Stepping out of the crowd, I observed the parade while trying to figure out how to make some photos. Being a bit vertically challenged and late to the party, my view was not all that great (as you can tell from the flag photo). Long story short, I ran about a mile around parts of the route to cross the street to the other side of the intersection of where I needed to be.īy the time I got back to right location, the crowd was already packed in. Not wanting to get arrested over something stupid, I turned around and headed south of the Halsted and Roscoe intersection. At this point I began to argue with the cop and he started to yell back. When I got there, and being the next in line to cross the street, the officer in charge told everyone to turn back.
Finding myself on the wrong side of the parade route to get to the roof party I was trying to attend, I tried to cross the street at one of the designated crossing points. With barely any coffee in me, I grabbed my gear and headed north. So I went with my camera to see what I could find. After initially making plans to go, then getting home too late the night before and wanting to cancel, I got talked back into attending. The 44th annual Gay Pride Week ended with a parade on Sunday.
